The Exhibition YVES SAINT LAURENT – SHAPES & FORMS

Decors and works by Claudia Wieser at Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris

On Thursday 8, the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris inaugurated YVES SAINT LAURENT – SHAPES & FORMS. This exhibition was staged by German artist Claudia Wieser, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, renowned for her post-modern practice. Her geometric works are the perfect accompaniment to the creations of the illustrious couturier, a fervent advocate of innovation and modernity, whose iconic designs are celebrated today both for their structured shapes and flat colours, as well as for their contrasts, which create an illusion of movement.

Alongside the fabrics, the exhibition also features photographic archives and original sketches by the designer. Under the curatorial direction of Elsa Janssen and Serena Bucalo-Mussely, the museum is offering a unique experience, which comes from the dialogue between the works of Claudia Wieser and the silhouettes of Yves Saint Laurent. In this premiere, we met some of the biggest names in fashion, including François Henri Pinault, Francesca Bellettini and Betty Catroux, as well as artists Martin Bethenod and Cécile Verdier.
