Les Éloges Celebrates Artists and Craftsmen Working in the Performing Arts
L’éloge, the cultural media co-founded by Constance Arnoult and Anaëlle Malka, has launched a bold new initiative to honour and highlight artists and craftsmen working in the performing arts: the Les Éloges Award. This year marks its very first edition of the Prize, co-founded with Dobra Szwinkel and based on an original idea by Anne Serroy.
It is a multidisciplinary prize aimed at celebrating creativity and excellence in ballet, opera, and theatre.
The jury was composed of prestigious figures from the cultural scene: Paul Marque, prima ballerina at the Opéra National de Paris; Lison Daniel, actress and scriptwriter; Vincent Huguet, opera director; Jennifer Decker, actress and member of the Comédie-française; Chloé Dabert, theatre director; Simone Menezes, conductor; and Xavier Ronze, head of ballet costumes at the Opéra national de Paris.
Originality, creativity, technical execution, emotional impact, and contribution to scenic art were all part of the criteria taken into account in the deliberations. Above all, however, the Prix des Eloges is a prize given from the heart.
The announcement of the winners was accompanied by a series of masterful performances: an aria from “Carmen” performed by the mistress of ceremonies, drag queen Elysée Moon, a duo of dancers from the Opéra national de Paris, Camille Bon and Alexandre Boccara, and finally a flamboyant interpretation by the Shum duo, formed by Lisa Strauss and Anastasia Rizikov.
It was an evening devoted to celebrating the performing arts, that saw not only the award ceremony but also performances by Marion Barbeau, Axel Auriant, Janie, Fleur Copin, Victoria Monfort, Panayotis Pascot, Charles Templon and many others!
