PAD Paris Makes a Strong Comeback For Its 25th Edition

If we could only attend one design fair, PAD Paris would be the one. Founded by Patrick Perrin, PAD has been for 25 years now, the leading fair for contemporary and historical design, having welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors. The fair is now back at the Jardin des Tuileries, presenting a curated selection of unique furniture, exceptional crafts and antique jewellery. But PAD also recently opened its doors to a limited selection of contemporary art pieces.

Amongst the galleries and publishers represented, regulars such as Boon_Room, Galerie BSL, Carpenters Workshop Gallery, Maison Pouenat, Willy Rizzo or Jousse Entreprises, but also new entrants like the Indian gallery AEQUŌ or the Italian DIMOREGALLERY.

This anniversary edition has invited Jacques Grange and a jury of professionals to award three separate prizes including The Contemporary Design Prize and the Historical Design Prize as well as artist Diane de Kergal to open the show with her poetic and luminous installation entitled “Above the Sun, Only Sky”.

On Wednesday, the fair opened its doors with the “Collector’s Preview” in the presence of Caroline Sarkozy, Laura Gonzalez, Victoria Wilmotte, Simon Porte-Jacquemus, Louise Bourgoin, Aline Asmar d’Amman and Alexis Mabille.

On Thursday, the entrance was extended with the VIP opening, attended by emerging designers and writers like Hugo Toro, Victor Cadene, Marc Valeanu, Pierre-Marie and Jan Erst.
