Laure Prouvost inaugurates the French Pavilion at the Venice Biennale

The 58th Venice Biennale: it’s on! After months of anticipation, the Biennale finally opened its Pavilions and exhibitions—including the French Pavilion, represented by Laure Prouvost and curator Martha Kirszenbaum. In the Giardini, the artist was on site alongside the French Minister of Culture, Franck Riester; within the Pavilion was the immersive installation “Deep see blue surrounding you / See this deep blue blend you.” Among the first viewers were Laurent Dumas (of the Emerige group), Eric de Chassey, and Orlan, as well as gallerist Nathalie Obadia, who represents Laure Prouvost. The exhibition received support from the Chanel Foundation, the sole sponsor of the French Pavilion for this edition of the Biennale. Within the artistic epicenter of Venice, we spotted artists like Chloé Wise and Luc Tuymans—the latter has his first solo exhibition in Italy, “La Pelle,” via the Pinault Collection. Venice at its best!
