Lara Vincy Gallery Celebrates its 70th Anniversary with NUMEROLOGY

Galerie Lara Vincy, Päris

On May 13th, 1955, Lara Vincy opened her eponymous gallery at 47 rue de Seine, an emblematic location that remains its home to this day. Since then, the gallery’s history has been shaped by her descendants. In the early 1970s, her daughter Liliane Vincy took over, later joined in 2000 by her son Youri Vincy. They worked together to promote a program that reflects the place’s avant-garde spirit, until Liliane’s passing in 2015. As of today, Youri continues the adventure alone, with the same rigorous standards. To celebrate the gallery’s 70th anniversary, the gallery presents the exhibition NUMEROLOGY, which brings together 30 selected artists around a common theme: numbers. As symbols, mysteries or data, numbers appear throughout the artworks like so many traces of the passing of time, seemingly by chance or by choice, but always with a hidden meaning.

With this exhibition, the gallery pays tribute to a unique family and artistic history, rooted in time, passion and innovation. A way of celebrating the past, anchoring the present and opening up the future.

At the opening, we met Youri Vincy, Charles Dreyfus, Joël Hubaut, ORLAN and many others.
