Perrotin’s Party Inaugurates the 2023 Edition of Art Basel
On Tuesday 13 June, a party organized by Perrotin heralded the opening of Art Basel. This celebratory evening has become part of the programme of the prestigious contemporary art fair, which brings together gallerists, artists and collectors every year. Internationally renowned for offering a rich overview of the contemporary art scene, this 2023 edition of the fair showcases nearly 300 galleries and the work of over 4,000 artists. The programme also includes conferences, performances and film screenings, completing a week fully dedicated to the creative industry. As one of the major players in the sector, Galerie Perrotin is also the organiser of the yearly kick-off party. The event takes place traditionally in the Elisabethenkirche church, a historical venue that gets transformed into an ephemeral dancefloor that served as the stage for the DJ sets by Pedro Winter, Breakbot, Irfane and Guillaume Sanchez, as well as the live performance by Ouai Stéphane and Bonnie Banane. Over the course of the night, we had the pleasure of meeting Gregor Hildebrandt, Wim Delvoye, Jérome Sans, David Marconi and Masha Rudenko over a glass of Italicus, Perrier Jouet, Monkey 47 and Heaven Sake.
