The Société des Amis des musées d’Orsay de l’Orangerie celebrates David Hockney
While the Fiac whirlwind is shaking up Paris, the Société des Amis des musées d’Orsay et de l’Orangerie and the Musée de l’Orangerie – Valéry Giscard d’Estaing just offered their friends a moment of serenity. On the occasion of the ‘David Hockney, A Year in Normandy’ exhibition, the Musée de l’Orangerie offers an immersion in the recent work of the legendary British artist who has been living in Normandy since 2019. Here, the painter unveils a new series of about one hundred works created on his iPad, in his garden during lockdown. His landscapes, characterized by his singular use of color, offer a positive vision of the world that even isolation cannot tarnish. The exhibition can be seen until February 14, 2022 at the Musée de l’Orangerie.
