Samaritaine Goes au naturel with Charlie Le Mindu and Paris “à poil”

The immersive exhibition Samaritaine, Paris à Poil(s) is an invitation to rediscover our authenticity, to emerge from our winter cocoons and welcome the arrival of warmer weather, to embrace our natural selves, to celebrate the living and the beauty of hair in all its textures and shapes! Samaritaine has given carte blanche to Charlie Le Mindu, tricophile artist and internationally acclaimed creative director, who has already collaborated with big figures in the fields of art, performance and fashion. Drawing on his experience as a hairdresser, the French artist puts forward new and modern conceptions of beauty, body, gender, and expression through his practice. This time, Charlie Le Mindu has taken over the emblematic staircase of the Parisian boutique and transformed it into an ephemeral exhibition space featuring a time-based artistic installation. The preferred material of the artist? Hair! More than 10.000 wigs have been arranged around the steps, adorning the venue between February and May. The piece will go through the phases of blooming, shaping and finally harvesting when customers will be able to get a piece to take with them. Monday evening, in the hustle and bustle of Paris Fashion Week, a cool crowd gathered to discover the first phase of this artwork entitled “Tricophilia”. During the evening we met Lisa Rinna, Amelia Gray, Tyrone Dylan, Sam Visser, Richie Shazam, James Goldstein, Yourgo Tloupas, Lola Dewaere, Willy Carter, Mathilda May and Julie Depardieu among many others.
