Screening of the Film Cauliflower and its Astonishing World
Inspired by the avant-garde surrealist movement, Aurélien Heilbronn plunges us into the realm of the unconscious with Cauliflower. This film, which reveals the hidden meanings inside a fighter’s ear, was born out of the filmmaker’s personal relationship with the world of martial arts, more precisely the reactions around an injured ear. The idea was to create a story that delves into the symbolic power of this physical manifestation, an endeavour also taken on by Alaric Smeets as screenwriter. The movie examines the duality of perspectives surrounding the cauliflower ear – a badge of honour for some, and a deformity for others. At the screening, we ran into Laure Guilbaut, Valentine Colasante, Béatrice Saunier, Yvick Letexier, Alpha Sidibé, Jeremie Galan and Clément Fortain.
