Reiffers Arts Initiatives Inaugurates “La prochaine fois, le feu”
Reiffers Art Initiatives is a foundation created in 2021 by Paul-Emmanuel Reiffers and aimed at supporting contemporary creation and cultural diversity.
Having become the first African-American artist to paint the official portrait of an American president (Barack Obama in 2018), Kehinde Wiley has proved himself one of the leading figures of the contemporary art scene. His emblematic hyperrealist and colourful paintings have been exposed at prestigious institutions such as the National Gallery in London, the Petit Palais in Paris and the Cini Foundation in Venice. As part of Reiffers Art Initiatives’ mentorship program, Wiley will accompany French-Senegalese artist Alexandre Diop for several months. The fruit of their collaboration is the exhibition “La prochaine fois, le feu” opening on October 19 during the Paris + Art Basel week at the Studio des Acacias . Denise Vilgrain, Brune Buonomano, Cathia Lawson Hall, and Jerôme Sans were among the attendees of the exhibition opening.
