Tamara Kostianovsky’s First Exhibition at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature

From April 23rd to November 3rd, the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature is hosting the first major exhibition of Argentinian artist Tamara Kostianovsky. With both strength and subtlety, her artistic practice explores complex themes such as memory, violence, colonisation, the evanescence of life, and the connections between the human body and nature.

She presents her sculpture work through installations made of unusual material; she works with clothing and discarded textiles that she recycles to explore ideas related to the fragility of existence, and the relationship between our flesh and our environment. She creates trompe l’oeils of striking but deceiving beauty, the work wavering between fascination and revulsion.

By exploring deep and universal themes through an innovative installation made of ordinary material (upcycling), Tamara Kostianovsky earned a unique position in the world of contemporary art, captivating the public with her meaningful and emotional pieces. For her first solo show in a French museum, almost thirty artworks were curated and incorporated into the exhibition room as well as the permanent circuit, casting light on the diversity of her work.
