The poetry of movement at Homme Plissé Issey Miyake

It’s no wonder that fashion insiders have always been the biggest fans of the brand: you won’t find anything more elegant and comfortable than Homme Plissé Issey Miyake pleated ensembles. You can move, run to important meetings, dance, live in them…That’s why, undoubtedly, the label decided to invite this season the company of the Théâtre National de Chaillot to sublimate the show, entitled “Flowers and Vases” in reference to delicate and fragile objects. The show at La Poste du Louvre (which has finally reopened after two years of renovation works), orchestrated by Rachid Ourmadane, director of the Théâtre National de Chaillot, began with what seemed to be a simple fashion parade until the acrobats from Compagnie XY appeared on the walls of the space to build human columns, showing all the flexibility and elegance of the new Spring-Summer 2023 pieces. They were followed by the Theatre’s dancers, who made us dream and forget everything for a few moments. It was a very touching show (we have missed these poetic fashion experiences between performance and spectacle so much in the last two years) – and we saw for the first time the very important fashion critic Angelo Flaccavento and the head buyer of Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman, Bruce Pask, smile…
