La Nuit by Sofitel celebrates its 1 year anniversary

What a night! Sofitel had promised it, that’s what happened with the anniversary edition of La Nuit by Sofitel (after a stop in Cannes and Dubai this year), a festive concept launched last year by the AccorHotels group channel from the same African branch. Saywho was there with some friends.

Mixing nocturnal pleasures and culture is the common thread of this travelling bacchanal, which for the second consecutive year inaugurates the Marrakech International Film Festival by hosting the official opening evening in its immense palace and lush gardens. At the end of the ceremony, the cinema and its VIP procession found themselves in the hotel lounges transformed into a 5* club with multiple atmospheres. And there…

It is first in the Berber space that the festivities begin, well seated on hand woven cushions and circumspect of the plethoric choice of hors d’oeuvres. Champagne and Moroccan cuisine go well together after dark. Several other corners punctuate the stroll, from oysters to tagines through all that the Maghreb has created more delicate. No one has ever seen so many banquets in one and the same infrastructure, however large.

But what Sofitel invoked the All-Marrakech, its jet-set, its showbiz and its nobility, is above all the party, the one that will follow till late and will dance in turn on the track Sofia Coppola, Bill Murray, Melita Toscan du Plantier, Christian Louboutin or Gemma Aterton. As is customary in the Red City, the music is first enjoyed live with groups with encyclopedic repertoire who do not hesitate to alternate local productions with the latest hits from elsewhere, from Justin Bieber to Stromae, to the delight of the audience.

Total transformation of the premises for the clubbing lounge, which was adorned with grey curtains and light boxes as if to stifle the basses of Cut Killer and welcome the dance floor of the Nuit by Sofitel. The DJ will officiate until dawn, after having followed the peregrinations of this mobile evening (Marrakech, Cannes, Dubai) which surfs on culture by inviting itself in some of its most famous appointments. Next taken in 2016, in a country kept secret but which promises to deploy new folklores of the most surprising… only after midnight.
