The Noble Alto Watch Unveiled
A new player incorporates the next generation of French timepieces. Last night, Thibault Guittard, a veteran in this field, unveiled his latest contribution: the Alto Watch. Boasting an impressive design, the watch’s hands defy the classic structure of time, retracting beautifully in a leftward motion. Blending references to industrial design visionaries like Giorgetto Giugiaro and Luca Bassani, a fascination for Olafur Eliasson’s aspirational works, the music of Daft Punk and Christopher Nolan’s cinematic universe, Guittard has given concrete form to his intuitions. Worthy of the artwork status, the watch’s sharp angles and strong identity got the undivided attention of Thomas Bangalter, Pedro Winter, Mathieu César, Xavier de Rosnay, Ivan Striga, Thomas Roussel, Jérôme Sans, Martin Solveig and Léo Walk.
