Sarah Andelman’s “Mise en Page” at Le Bon Marché
From February 24th to April 21st, Le Bon Marché and Sarah Andelman will be sharing their love for bookshops, libraries and ink on paper through the “Mise en Page” project. Thanks to Sarah Andelman’s sharp eye and Jean Jullien’s artistic installations, Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche will be transformed into a meeting place for all book lovers.
To bring this project to life, Jean Jullien has created a character in Sarah’s image, dressed in her signature style and standing with her face immersed in a book. Through the eight windows of the department store, his “Paper People” will be illustrating a series of adventures, through time and around the world. Inside, the Paper People will take on gigantic proportions on either side of the escalator: one sitting on top of an impressive pile of books, the other stretched out at full length with his arms pointing towards the second floor. The space that is home to the brand Nonou, has been transformed by Jean in collaboration with Jae Huh into a reading corner, where visitors can discover new books while enjoying a Nounou coffee. As Proust summed it up so well: “Reading is a friendship”. Let’s cultivate it!
At the opening night, we met Thomas Roussel, Hugues Lawson Body, Aline Asmar d’Amman, Harry Nuriev, André Saraiva, Julien Pham, Sophie Fontanel, Alexandre Mattiusi, Alexandre de Betak, Liya Kebede, Sonia Sieff, Margaux Avril, Margaux Avril, Marisa Berenson, and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.
