The Magnificent Opening Gala at the Opéra de Paris
The Gala is always an eagerly anticipated event, as it marks the opening of the ballet season. Held on the Palais Garnier stage, the Défilé du Ballet introduces the entire company, gathering the Étoilés and school students, all dressed up in sumptuous tiaras and tutus. This season’s Gala is paying tribute to three female choreographers with a contemporary-oriented programme. Opening the evening was Crystal Pite’s “The Seasons’ Canon”, already a staple in the Opéra’s repertoire. Following were Marion Motin with “The Last Call” and Xie Xin with “Horizon”, both the very first creations of the choreographers for the Company’s dancers. As is customary, Chanel was once again one of the Paris Opera Ballet’s lead sponsors, naturally alongside Rolex, another key partner of the elegant evening. To mark this exceptional occasion, Zadig&Voltaire’s artistic director Cécilia Bonstrom invited a few friends of the Maison to enjoy such an elegant event. These honoured guests were thus invited to join the sumptuous dinner that takes place every year in the venue’s foyer. It was an exquisite evening that gathered celebrities like Poppy Delevingne, Ophélie Guillermand, Blanca Soler, Cate Underwood, and Estelle Chen among many others.
