The Art Explora foundation sets sail for culture
Frédéric Jousset had one goal when he created Art Explora Foundation in 2019: to reduce the cultural divide and share art with a broader audience. In order to make that wish a reality, the French entrepreneur and philanthropist knew he had to reinvent the way we see and share art. Thus, he presented during FIAC week in Paris two new large-scale projects carried out by his foundation. The first project takes the form of a 46-meter wide catamaran. Named ARTEXPLORER, this museum ship (with a capacity of two thousand visitors per day) will set sail in 2023 to show its exhibitions in ports around the world. ARTEXPLORER is the work of Axel Beaufort and Guillaume Verdier, who were present this week at the Louvre Museum for the inauguration. In the presence of Roselyne Bachelot, Minister of Culture, Art Explora also unveiled the Art Explora Academy, the first open access learning platform for art history designed in partnership with Sorbonne University. Designed as a media library around eleven learning themes, the platform can also deliver a certificate validated by Sorbonne University. While all eyes were on Paris for the opening of the 47th edition of the Fiac, October 2021 also marks the opening of the World Expo in Dubai, in which Art Explora is currently participating to represent culture within the French Pavilion. On the theme ‘Connecting minds, building the future’, the foundation presents an immersive installation by French artist Neil Beloufa, “There is no I in island”. A strong message that resonates with the foundation’s very first ambition: to break down the borders in terms of art and culture.
