The Jean-François Prat 2024 Award Finalists’ Group Exhibition
The Jean-François Prat Award for contemporary art is a sponsorship initiative by the Bredin Prat endowment fund. The prize is a tribute to the late lawyer by the law firm, where he played a crucial role and bears now his name, for he was a great lover of contemporary art.
The three finalists were invited for a group exhibition at 53 Quai d’Orsay, which is where the head office of the endowment fund is located. The first finalist is Henni Alftan, an artist whose paintings resemble photographs, as the composition of her works is worthy of professional framing. Her simple lines are full of implicit meaning. As for Hyunsun Jeon, she deftly uses watercolours to create innovative landscapes with bright and colourful geometric shapes, which almost give the impression of a digital look. We almost always find her favourite themes in her work: mathematics and nature. Finally, Christine Safa and the ochre tones of her paintings carry us away to a universe imbued with nostalgia. Between Mediterranean landscapes and warm portraits, the artist takes us into a world where everything seems softer.
At the opening on June 4th, the jury, led by Jean-Paul Agon, awarded the prize of this 2024 edition to Christine Safa. Her work is displayed alongside that of the other two finalists from June 7th to July 7th, 2024, at 53 Quai d’Orsay.
Alongside Henni Alftan, Hyunsun Jeon and Christine Safa, we met Xavier Rey, Frederic Brière, Charlotte Ardon, Martin Hatebur, Patricia Marshall, Julie Boukobza, Daria de Beauvais, Fabien Vallérian, Marie Maertens, Fabrice Hergott, Sophie Thimonnier, Caroline Gayal and Victoire de Pourtalès.
