Jean-Charles de Castelbajac Heralds the Opening of Frieze London
In the run-up to the upcoming launch of Frieze London, set to take over the British capital from October 9th to 13th, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac welcomed us to sketch for an exclusive sneak peek of his latest installation. Commissioned by Anne-Laure Pingreoun and created as a tribute to his friend Vivienne Westwood, ‘Home of the Braves’ plunges us into the heart of the suffragette movement through an immersive itinerary echoing the core values underpinning this feminist cause. Inspired by the bravery of these women, the installation is structured around three key moments, which give rise to three sections: The Flag Room, The Coat of Arms and The Epic Room.
This Monday evening, after a talk with Clara Strunck at Sketch London, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac hosted a cocktail party at his installation, where we met Nora Arnezeder, Josephine De La Baume, Joe Corré, Glen Matlock, Robert Montgomery, Louis-Marie de Castelbajac, Lou Hayter and Timothee Verrecchia.
