The Grande Epicerie du Bon Marché was revamped and celebrated its new space with a bang last Monday evening. After two years of renovations, the appointment was taken at the corner of the streets of Sèvres and the Bac to attend the parade of know-how, honoring all the gastronomic areas proposed by the “luxury supermarket” since its creation at the beginning of the 90’s. The opportunity to discover the new layouts – from the cellar housing some 20,000 bottles, to the world’s water department, passing by the latest bakery -, to taste some precious dishes in the catering area, and to go up for dessert at La Table, a brand new Bon Marché restaurant nestled under the large glass roof and announcing itself as THE new social event in St Germain. Meadows, of course.
Alongside Antonio Belloni and Patrice Wagner, respectively General Manager of the LVMH group and CEO of the Bon Marché group, a flock of artists and comedians came to do their market, including Diane Kruger, Sylvie Testud, Géraldine Nakache and the very rare Michel Piccoli. But oh you, Catherine Deneuve, guardian of the Left Bank spirit and Germanopratin elegance, where were you?
