Inauguration of the Bosquet du Théâtre d’eau, by JM Othoniel

The Château de Versailles and the Galerie Perrotin organised a sumptuous cocktail on Sunday 10 May for the inauguration of the Bosquet du Théâtre d’Eau, redesigned by Louis Benech and punctuated by the fountain sculptures of Jean-Michel Othoniel,Les Belles Danses”, a tribute to the ballets of Louis XIV. This is the first commission to an artist in the Gardens of the Palace of Versailles since Louis XVI, a historic moment. The new choreographic piece “”O’de””, specifically created for the occasion by the L.A. Dance Project, founding director Benjamin Millepied, and inspired by Othoniel’s fountain sculptures, was shown exclusively, with the exceptional participation of Lil Buck. It had been 300 years since a show had taken place in the Bosquet, the emotion was palpable…
