After the success of the previous edition, DRAWING NOW PARIS – the contemporary drawing fair – is back until Sunday at the Carreau du Temple.
The first contemporary art fair in Europe dedicated to drawing this year hosts no less than 80 galleries on two levels: on one side, the upper hall gives pride of place to reference artists. On the other, two rooms on the second level dedicated to emerging artists as well as the”Drawing talks”, interviews,”Drawing in process”, the cultural exhibition and the”Drawing Now” Prize which will show all the dimensions of the discipline, contemporary version.
Following the events of January 2015, the Show team decided to pay tribute to freedom of expression by placing this new opus under the sign of commitment. After all, what medium other than drawing can allow artists this freedom? To do this, the Salon dedicates its”Drawing Talks” to the commitment of cultural actors and Philippe Piguet’s interviews will give the floor to a selection of artists working in this direction.
“What do you think an artist is? A fool who has only eyes if he is a painter, ears if he is a musician, or a lyre on every floor of the heart if he is a poet, or even if he is a boxer, only muscles?
On the contrary, he is at the same time a political being, constantly alert to the heartbreaking, ardent or sweet events of the world, shaping himself from scratch in his image. Pablo Picasso.
