In Milan, Winnie Harlow and Thylane Blondeau walk for Byblos
Milan Fashion Week gets off to a strong start with Byblos, a historic brand founded back in 1974 with Gianni Versace being one of its firsts creative directors. September 19, 2018 was an important date for the brand: Manuel Facchini, Byblos’ current creative director, reinstated the brands in the official Camera della Moda calendar. Byblos is “reborn” as well as “#reburn”. This world play perfectly embodied the collection inspired by Burning Man. The mantra of this Spring/Summer 2019 collection is “no boundaries, no restraints” with a contrasting dialogue between two distinct aesthetics: the hippie silhouettes from space and the sportswear silhouettes translated into contemporary parkas. Backstage, one could meet top models like Winnie Harlow and the young French model Thylane Blondeau. On the VIP side, 90s supermodel Nadège Dubospertus was the special guest of this fashion week alongside Italian actress Eva Riccobono. Several hundred people were looking forward to Manuel Facchini’s collection, including the famous actress Ornella Muti. The privileged guests were all thrilled by the show, which celebrated freedom of expression and marked a turning point for Byblos.
