Hyères Festival Awards 2016

This weekend in Hyères, the festival was in full swing, welcoming the last curious and professional visitors to the hanging gardens of Villa Noailles. Several highlights punctuated these two sunny days concluded with the announcement of the winners.

On Saturday, the fashion and photo juries met in the sublime gardens of Jean-Marie Rey’s estate (owner of nurseries and local figure) for an unofficial picnic, to then join those of Villa Noailles, suspended this time, for the outdoor showcase of the sweet Juliette Armanet as part of the concerts scheduled by the agency Stage of the Art and Converse. Then direction the Templar Tower, in the heart of the old town, to inaugurate with Peroni the video exhibition”Just in Time” of the duo of prolific choreographers, I could never be a Dancer.

Sunday at midday, the day after the Paco Rabanne x I.D France x Cicciolina party, which kept the bravest people awake until the early hours, the Festival met its award-winning former designers at the”The Formers” meeting. Finally, the long-awaited award ceremony for the 31st edition took place at the Hangar de la Mouture, in the Salin des Pesquiers. So, the result?

On the fashion side, the Grand Jury Prize goes to the Japanese Wataru TOMINAGA for his bold creations with surprising graphic strength. The Chloé Prize and the fashion jury’s special mention went to the Finnish duo Hanne Jurmu / Anton Vartiainen, who achieved a well-deserved double.

In terms of photography, the Czech Vendula Knopovà won the Grand Prix, while the only French winner of the 2016 Audience Prize was Anaïs Boileau. We’re safe now.
