Rupture & Associés pays tribute to Hilton McConnico
A stylist, a set designer for the French cinema ( Truffaut, Beinex or Kurys…) a designer, photographer… The talent of the American artist Hilton McConnico was, to say the least, limitless. Today, an exceptional exhibition imagined by Thomas Erber, with the help of Alexandre Sap and Julien Grollemund (the three co-founders of the agency Rupture & Associés) along with Jacqueline McConnico, offers to dive into the rich heritage of this American legend who passed away in 2018. The exhibition is presented at Rupture House in Paris, a new private gallery, collector’s apartment and place of influence created by the founders of the eponymous agency. Hilton McConnico was a lover of France, where he had settled. To pay homage to his work, Thomas Erber has called upon three talents of interior design. Vincent Darré, Pierre Gonalons, who designed the new Rupture Store in the Marais last September, as well as the duo Atelier Baptiste & Jaïna, founded in 2017 by Baptiste Sevin and Jaïna Ennequin around their common love for ceramics. These three singular signatures dialogue with iconic pieces by the American designer, some of which are being unveiled for the very first time. Rupture & Associés organized this week an opening in due form, inviting friends and personalities such as designer Yaz Bukey, Alexandre de Betak, Franck Bonnet of the eponymous house, or Pierre Maheo, founder of the brand Officine Générale. All were able to discover the exhibition created with the support of Pierre Frey and Cire Trudon during an evening supported by Eminente rums, Tequila Volcan and the chocolate maker Damyel. Just a stone’s throw from the Comédie-Française, it’s at 1, Place André Malraux that you can discover this exhibition until July 31 (free admission, registration by email at [email protected]).
