There are more prestigious fashion schools in Europe than you can count on your fingers. Among them, HEAD-Genève, the product of a merger between École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts and Haute École d’Arts Appliqués, has trained students in art, design and fashion for 12 years. On the first weekend of November, 20 students presented their collection within the school’s campus to more than two thousand attendees (an audience composed of professionals of all fields in fashion). To the sound of a DJ set by DJ Puzupuzu, the designers presented about 240 silhouettes to hopefully win one of the three awards : the La Redoute x HEAD 2018 Prize, the Bachelor Bongenie 2018 Prize, and the Mercedes-Benz Master Prize 2018. For this edition, the jury was chaired by none other than Olivier Theyskens and was composed of leading figures of the fashion industry, including stylist Camille Bidault-Waddington and photographer Anders Edström. Master student Quyhn Bui came out as the undisputed winner of the night by grabbing both La Redoute x Head and Mercedes-Benz Master Prizes. Josiane Martinho was awarded the Bachelor Bongenie Prize. Once again, HEAD-Genève sent out a strong message, one that places Geneva at the forefront of European fashion.
