“Grand Dîner du Louvre”: Alain Ducasse meets Leonardo da Vinci

The Grand Dîner du Louvre is a fundraising event organized every year to support the museum’s missions. For the very first time, this week the dinner was held under the famous Pyramids  designed by the legendary I.M. Pei to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of their construction. It was also a way of paying tribute to the Chinese-American architect, who died last May, who turned the Louvre (an 800-year-old institution) into a modern attraction. This exceptional dinner hosted approximately 630 guests (artists, patrons, architects and partners from all over the world) including director Wong Kar-Wai, actress Karin Viard and Frédéric Mitterrand who were all invited to explore the retrospective exhibition dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci. Guests were treated to a private viewing by night of this exhibition dedicated to the creative genius of the painter who died 500 years ago. After a close look at some of his greatest masterpieces, they enjoyed a luxurious dinner prepare by Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse to delight their taste buds. The Grand Dîner du Louvre was truly an experience for all the senses.
