Germanier’s Breathtaking Show Marks the End of Haute Couture Week

Palais de Tokyo, Paris

Kévin Germanier gave Haute Couture Week a fitting grand finale. For his Spring/Summer 26 collection entitled “Les Chardonneuses,” the fashion designer gathered an impressive amount of unsold garments from the LVMH group’s Maisons and repurposed them in a show full of poetry and enthusiasm. The collection featured the official uniforms of the French Olympic team, created by Berluti, as well as plastic scraps, beads, and other materials that reflect a concept that is still experimental in this field: upcycled couture.

For this creative laboratory, Kévin Germanier draws inspiration from the disturbing works of visual artist H.R. Giger, as well as “the elegance of edelweiss and thistles, the sophistication of St. Gallen lace, and the mythical energy of the Tschäggättä monsters from the Valais canton.” Psychedelic and joyful, the show opened with Lisa Rinna wearing a midnight blue leotard, a huge tulle skirt, and a hat with branches: a look that set the tone. Cascades of beaded and feathered details were displayed on colorful and flamboyant fabrics, fully embroidered masks made the silhouettes anonymous, and blue feather coats were mixed with elaborate costumes. Germanier is known for his spectacular fashion shows, and we were not disappointed!

At the show, we met Clara Berry, Moon, La Grande Dame, Pascal K Douglas, and many more.
