Germanier Is Open For Business
Kevin Germanier has never hidden his desire to join a fashion house, nor his ambition to change things from the inside by bringing his upcycling know-how to the table. He sees his eponymous label as an experimental platform for developing an ultra-glam, colourful creative identity with impeccable technique. With Fu*king business, it seems that the Swiss designer wanted to prove that he was capable of anything, and especially of doing business. To the many upcycled feathers, beads and sequins that have been at the heart of Germanier’s identity since the label’s inception in 2018, he added bespoke pieces, some velvet knits constructed as a cardigan-miniskirt set, lace-up tops and even all-black looks. Germanier clearly wanted to make a point. He is where you expect him to be, but more importantly, where you don’t. Ready, it seems, to prove himself elsewhere. While, of course, keeping Germanier at the top of what fashion should be: art.
