Perrotin inaugurates three new exhibitions and Secondary Market

September has much to delight art lovers at Perrotin gallery. This week, the gallery opened not one but three new exhibitions in their Rue de Turenne spaces, devoted to John Henderson, GaHee Park and Lars Von Trier. The first exhibition, entitled “The Return”, offers to re-discover the American artist’s approach painting, characterized by his casts, on the occasion of his second exhibition at Perrotin in Paris. In the adjacent rooms of the gallery, Korean artist GaHee Park presents “Too Early After All”, her first solo exhibition in France. Finally, and for the first time as well, Perrotin presents an exceptional exhibition of Lars Von Trier in the form of 24 photographic works by the iconic filmmaker. Entitled “ARTvonTrier”, the exhibition was conceived on an idea by Lena Vaney and Jens-Otto Paludan. The three exhibitions were inaugurated on Saturday, September 3 in the presence of the artists and friends of the gallery – but the festivities did not end there. The next day, Emmanuel Perrotin invited friends and art professionals to 8 Avenue Matignon for the inauguration of his gallery dedicated to the second market. Covering a wide spectrum of artists and periods, Perrotin Secondary Market is the result of an association between Emmanuel Perrotin, Tom-David Bastok and Dylan Lessel. After the opening of the inaugural exhibition, which included works by Lucio Fontana, Ugo Rondinone and Georges Mathieu, everyone gathered at the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild for a big party in collaboration with Zadig & Voltaire… Here’s a chronological review of these two highlights of the artistic season.
