Galerie Negropontes opens on the Right Bank

Galerie Negropontes has opened a new chapter. The design gallery founded in 2012 by Sophie Negropontes just celebrated its reopening in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, on rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau. The new, 200 square-meter space (four times larger than the previous gallery) reflect the renewed Right Bank dynamics when it comes to art and design – after all, this is where François Pinault will soon open his Foundation, and the venue is just a few steps away from Musée des Arts Décoratifs and the Louvre. To mark this new chapter, the gallery owner and her artistic director Hervé Langlais inaugurated the exhibition “Seven Years of Reflection”, a scenography linking mirrors and design furniture that traces the gallery’s history. The new Negropontes space will present, in addition to a selection of emblematic pieces of furniture designed by Hervé Langlais, the sculptures of the artists represented by the gallery: Perrin & Perrin, Eric de Dormael, Etienne Moyat and Benjamin Poulanges.
