Galerie des Galeries presents the exhibition “Savoir Faire Savoir”
The “Savoir Faire Savoir” show—in collaboration with Bildung plus a scenography by NOCOD—is exhibiting historical archives and contemporary creations that spotlight French heritage and everyday objects; this first edition of takes plants as its motif. The Galeries Lafayette once had the Ateliers de la Maîtrise: an in-house applied art workshop (founded in 1922 under the direction of Maurice Dufrêne), which supported great names in design, such as Charlotte Perriand and Serge Mouille. Today, the gallery called on the contemporary outfit We Do Not Work Alone—a project by Anna Klossowski, Charlotte Morel and Louise Grislain—and gave them carte blanche. The trio created a collection of everyday objects in collaboration with artists Florentine and Alexandre Lamarche-Ovize, Benoît Maire, Pascale Marthine Tayou and Marion Verboom. Students from École Duperré also participated, imagining a repertoire of contemporary motifs found on the objects and decorations within the department store. The collaborative show runs from June 26th to August 18th.
