Galerie Cécile Fakhoury To Celebrate Its Ten-Year Anniversary

Congratulations are in order. Ten years have passed since Cécile Fakhoury opened her very first Abidjan-based art gallery. Having become a reference in the field, promoting contemporary art over the African continent and abroad, the anniversary had to be celebrated as should be. And it was. With an epic takeover at Le Carmen, on October 20 in Paris.

The exponential success of Cécile Fakhoury does speak for itself. From 2012 and over the years, the gallery has grown, opening galleries from Dakar to Paris and venturing into the biggest art fairs and biennials. After a second bold foray into Paris, in the form of a new showroom, Cecile Fakhoury opened a third gallery in no-less than avenue Matignon in the 8th arrondissement.

And Fakhoury’s exponential rise never seems to stop. This October, as the perfect proof of success, the gallery was accepted to exhibit in the newcomer of art fairs: Paris + Art Basel. A great opportunity for the gallery to present a solo show by rising star artist Romeo Mivekannin (b. 1986, in Bouaké) to an international audience.
