FW26-27: EGONLAB Spreads its Wings at the Palais de Tokyo
Somewhere between couture and ready-to-wear, EGONLAB presents “Lazarus”, a collection that emphasizes creativity over commercial profit, which often takes precedence in the fashion industry. The show opened with a manifesto delivered by British actress Jameela Jamil, serving as a warning against conformity. This insightful introduction provided a deeper understanding of the collection presented by Florentin Glémarec and Kevin Nompeix. The collection features a mix of elegantly tailored jackets and coats, with feathered tops that frame the face, sometimes covering it entirely, like an incomplete metamorphosis. As always with EGONLAB, the volumes are carefully considered, with the suits emphasising the waist and accentuating the shoulders.
‘Lazarus’ includes two collaborations. The first one is with Converse, with an embroidered version of the Chuck Taylor. The second one, called “LOVE WILL NOT TEAR US APART”, was done with Tinder and includes a feather couture piece made by the Maison Février feather workshop. Thirty percent of the proceeds from this second collaboration will be donated to the feminist association Safe Place. A collection with a strong message, flying high over the first days of Paris Fashion Week.
During the show, we met Léna Mahfouf, Federico Stauffer, Ogee, Bill Kaulitz and many others.
