It’s a Saturday morning of Fashion Week as we like it. In the sumptuous setting of Hôtel Potocki in the 8th arrondissement, Joseph Altuzarra evoked the joy of a summer day in the middle of September. Say Who takes a short detour to the backstage area, set up in a ballroom overhung by crystal chandeliers, before walking along the long rows of seats to find one’s own. Already installed front row, the big names of the fashion industry have all made the trip: Suzy Menkes, Imran Amed and Tim Blanks (Business of Fashion), Tonne Goodman (Vogue) are patiently waiting to discover the collection. In the monumental salons located on the ground floor, Joseph Altuzarra, founder of his label, had invited his guests to a trip to the Mediterranean coasts of the Italian peninsula, inspired by his own childhood memories and holidays. For this Spring/Summer 2019 collection, Altuzarra offers new extremely feminine and sensual pieces that are sure to become iconic pieces in the women’s summer wardrobe. The theme of the beach is taken up in the accessories and adorns the flowing dresses, bags and shoes: details of shells, fisherman’s nets and tied cords. While in the first row the list of prescribers is long (Drew Elliott, Bryan Boy, Courtney Trop, Caroline Issa, and Mélanie Huynh), it is outside that we find Joseph Altuzarra in conversation with Imran Amed and Tim Blanks right after the show. Leaving this little paradise to go to the next show was even quite difficult, still it all ended with a family photo with top model Isabeli Fontana right at the center.
