Fondation d’entreprise Ricard presents the exhibition “Poésie prolétaire”
Poézi Prolétèr is the name of the Parisian magazine created by poets Katalin Molnar and Christophe Tarkos and artist Pascal Doury in the late 1990s. Although short-lived, the publication left its mark on the minds of connoisseurs, so much so that the Fondation d’entreprise Ricard’s new winter exhibition takes its title, and even its mood, directly from it. At the crossroads of poetry and drawing, Poézi Prolétèr was an unexpected review of the time: both artisanal and composite. As proposed by François Piron, the Fondation d’entreprise Ricard is welcoming six artists whose universes echo that of Poézi Prolétèr. The works of Anne Bourse, Carlotta Bailly-Borg, and Mélanie Matranga mix with those of Lizzy Mercier-Descloux, Joëlle de la Casinière and Thérèse Bonnelalbay. The latter three have chosen not to devote themselves entirely to their careers as artists: Mercier-Descloux is the owner of a record/clothing store and a musician, de la Casinière is part of a collective, and Bonnelalbay practiced for a long time as a nurse. All from different generations, the works (poems, drawings) by the six women dialogue around the artist’s position today and open up questions about counter-cultures. The aesthetic and philosophical journey is on view until February 23rd.
