The Fondation Pernod Ricard invites Isabelle Cornaro
From June 22 to July 31, the Fondation Pernod Ricard presents INFANS, a new solo exhibition by Isabelle Cornaro. The French artist, winner of the Ricard Prize in 2010, is one of the four artists nominated for the 2021 edition of the prestigious Marcel Duchamp Prize. Curated by Mouna Mekouar, the exhibition presents a lesser known aspect of Cornaro’s work: INFANS (from the Latin “not speaking”) stages various short films shot in 16mm. Creating a universe that evoke a world where speech didn’t exist, the artist deploys a visual narrative supported by superimpositions and collages of images that question our relationship to reality. INFANS extends over the two exhibition spaces of the Fondation, which just moved to the first floor of the group’s new headquarters in the Saint-Lazare district in the summer of 2020.
