The Fiminco Foundation lays the foundation for the new Frac Ile-de-France
2020 will be an important year for the Fonds régional d’art contemporain – Frac Ile-de-France. The Fiminco Foundation will inaugurate a brand new building in Romainville to house its current reserves. Located in a vast and unusual industrial site, the new Frac will be housed next to Komunuma, a gathering of five Parisian galleries (Galerie Sator, Air de Paris, Galerie Jocelyn Wolff, and In Situ Fabienne Leclerc) and the Jeune Création association, all united in a community setting. After the launch of Komunuma the day before, the Fiminco Foundation celebrated with a ceremony to physically lay down the first stone to kick off the construction of the future Frac building. Valérie Pécresse, President of the Ile-de-France Region joined Gérald Azancot, President of the Fiminco Group and Joachim Pflieger, Director General of the Fiminco Foundation to set down the first stone together. Every year, the Fiminco Foundation welcomes 18 artists from all over the world for artistic residencies. In 2020, the foundation will welcome two new groups of artists to Romainville in January and June, offering them a privileged opportunity to develop their research, experimentation and production work. www.fondationfiminco.com
