“La forme du non” (“The Form of Not”), here is an intriguing exhibition title. In fact, it describes quite well the work artists dup Fabien Giraud & Raphaël Siboni. For their exhibition at Fondation d’entreprise Ricard, the artists express all the complexity of their art through their preferred medium: film. Anyone who knows their work knows that Fabien Giraud & Raphaël Siboni have undertaken a real narrative corpus exploring the genesis of technology. Thus, the exhibition at Fondation d’entreprise Ricard offers an immersion in the three cycles of this corpus. First with The Unmanned, a series of eight movies, only one of them (The Outlawed) being screened in the exhibition. The Everted Capital, the second cycle, is based on a film and a live 24-hour performance. Finally, the artists unveil their third and new cycle, The Form of Not (which gives its name to the exhibition). This cycle takes the form of a sculptural installation inspired by algorithms and anthropological schemes. If the entire scope of Fabien Giraud & Raphaël Siboni’s may seem mysterious to the novice eye, the best way to appreciate their work is still to sit down, look and see…
