Yseult and (LA)HORDE launch the 35th Hyères Festival
The 35th International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Fashion Accessories – Hyères was highly anticipated. Last January, Pascale Mussard and Jean-Pierre Blanc officially launched this new edition at the École nationale des Beaux-Arts during a big event presenting its jury and finalists, in presence of Jonathan Anderson, Paolo Roversi and Hubert Barrère, respectively presidents of the fashion, photography and fashion accessories jury. Because of lockdown, it was on October 15th (and not in April as usual) that the Villa Noailles finally inaugurated the festival. Even if the faces were masked, the enthusiasm was intact. This official opening started with the screening of the teaser of ‘Chère Marie-Laure’, a film by Karim Zeriahen followed by the traditional speech of Jean-Pierre Blanc. The evening continued under the beautiful Var’s sky with a surprise concert by Yseult, joined on stage by Claire Laffut, and a performance by (LA)HORDE on the rooftop of the Villa at dusk. On this first fay were inaugurated the numerous exhibitions the Villa Noailles presents simultaneously with the Festival. Among these, Jonathan Anderson’s installation presenting a retrospective of his creations for his brand, J.W. Anderson, and LOEWE of which he is the artistic director, is not to be missed. In addition to the exhibitions of Paolo Roversi and Hubert Barrère, the Villa also inaugurated the exhibitions of its latest winners Christoph Rumpf (fashion), Alice Mann (photography), Noelia Morales (accessories), Róisín Pierce (Métiers d’Art Prize) and Hubert Cabrières (American Vintage Photography Prize). This is the beginning of a long and beautiful weekend dedicated to the future of creation.
