Fashion Makes its Entrance to the Musée du Louvre
On Thursday, January 23rd, the musée du Louvre officially opened its new exhibition: “LOUVRE COUTURE. Art and fashion: statement pieces”.
The exhibition presents us with an unprecedented and striking dialogue between masterpieces from the Louvre’s Objets d’Art department and major pieces from the history of contemporary fashion, from the 1960s to 2025. Featuring around a hundred silhouettes and accessories, the exhibition takes us on a journey to the heart of the museum’s collections to delve into the history of the decorative arts. All pieces making up this remarkable selection are loans granted for the first time by forty-five fashion houses and designers, who were all present that evening.
The exhibition “LOUVRE COUTURE. Art and fashion: statement pieces” is running until the 21st of July.
