An Exclusive Glimpse Into the 49th César Awards Ceremony
On Friday 23rd, the prestigious Olympia Theatre became the venue for the 49th César Awards ceremony, chaired by Valérie Lemercier and hosted by a line-up of renowned Masters and Mistresses of Ceremonies: Ariane Ascaride, Bérénice Bejo, Dali Benssalah, Juliette Binoche, Dany Boon, Bastien Bouillon, Audrey Diwan, Ana Girardot, Diane Kruger, Benoît Magimel, Paul Mirabel, Nadia Tereszkiewicz, and Jean-Pascal Zadi.
The evening gave rise to a tight competition between the two favourite films. While “Le Règne animal” won five Césars (Best Cinematography, Best Original Score, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound and Best Costume Design), it was Justine Triet’s “Anatomie d’une chute” that stood out winning six awards, including Best Film, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Editing, Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor.
