Études Studio Strikes a Chord at IRCAM in Paris

IRCAM, Paris

Had you ever heard of IRCAM? Neither had we. Hidden beneath the Pompidou Centre, this striking venue is in fact the Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics, and the setting chosen by Aurélien Arbet and Jérémie Egry to present a collection inspired by 1990s dance music and the work of American composer and philosopher John Cage, renowned for his reflections on music and silence. To set the tone for this unconventional show, staged in IRCAM’s soundproofed basement, the French label collaborated with British artist Actress, who composed a powerful, immersive soundtrack. Staying true to its utilitarian roots, Études Studio presented its signature pieces—velvet jackets, heavy canvas outerwear with carefully developed washes, and hoodies adorned with the brand’s star-circle logo—while introducing a more refined and seductive approach to tailoring. This was offset by a Great American West influence, embodied by oversized cowboy hats.

In the front row, we spotted Aurélien Arbet, Woodkid, Sarah Andelman, Clara Berry, and Matteo Sinet, to name a few.
