Eros on the Red Carpet: ‘Babygirl’ Causes a Stir in Venice
This year’s Venice Film Festival is one of the most spectacular and glamorous we’ve ever witnessed. A quick look at the names that have graced the Lido’s red carpet in the past few hours will suffice. Last night, it was Nicole Kidman’s turn, accompanied by the stellar cast of ‘Babygirl’, an erotic thriller directed by Dutch filmmaker Halina Reijn.
The celebrities starring in what’s arguably the hottest film of the season, an exploration of female sexuality through the passion story between a woman CEO and a young intern played by Harris Dickinson, walked down the Venetian red carpet on Friday 30th. All the photographers’ lenses, including ours, were focused on the divine Nicole, who, years ago, presented the controversial Eyes Wide Shut here alongside her former partner Tom Cruise and Stanley Kubrick. The American actress dazzled in a sublime couture gown by Schiaparelli. Alongside her were Antonio Banderas, hand in hand with “his” Nicole Kimpel, the elegantly dressed British actor Harris Dickinson, and 26-year-old Aussie Sophie Wilde, who opted for an all-black look. In addition to the cast, other stars also walked the red carpet, including Eva Green, Lili Reinhart, Zhang Ziyi, Camila Mendes, and Eva Riccobono.
