Équinoxes #11 : Camille Fournet Welcomes the Ittah Yoda Collective
The equinoxes are the only two days in a year when the day is as long as the night. For 5 years now, Camille Fournet has celebrated this celestial equilibrium by highlighting the work of emerging artists. For the eleventh edition of these artistic encounters, the Maison has invited the Ittah Yoda collective, formed by Virgile Ittah and Kay Yoda.
Trained at the Royal College of Art in London, the duo are renowned for their futuristic creations, which reflect upon a post-anthropocene ecosystem. By blending natural and digital worlds, they seek to explore what they call the ‘symbiocene’, a harmonious future where these two ecosystems coexist.
For Équinoxes #11, the duo have created an immersive and sensorial installation at the centre of the Camille Fournet boutique. Drawing inspiration from the signature textures, colours, and shapes of the Maison, the artists have conceived a series of sculptures whose unique designs call for tactile engagement.
The installation’s chef-d’oeuvre is a silky and soft sculpture which, hovering in the middle of the boutique, creates a singular space, both real and fictional, framed by a carpet on the floor, symbolising a passageway between these two worlds.
