Emma Stone and Jaden Smith present the 2018 LVMH Prize to Doublet

Last March, when top model Bella Hadid was seen at Fondation Louis Vuitton judging the collections of the 20 LVMH Prize shortlisted designers, the excitement towards the awards ceremony was already in full force. This year has been one of some changes: following Haider Ackermann’s and Phoebe Philo’s departure from their respective houses, Clare Waight Keller, Givenchy artistic director, joined the ranks of the jury already composed of Karl Lagerfeld, Nicolas Ghesquière, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Jonathan Anderson, Marc Jacobs or Delphine Arnault. While Rihanna caused a sensation last year by presenting the prize to the young Serre Marine, this year the LVMH Prize was accompanied by two ambassadors of choice. First the beautiful Emma Stone (all dressed in Louis Vuitton), then Jaden Smith, whose career as a style icon and musician goes far beyond him being Will Smith’s son. After a few snapshots to please the photographers as wells as privileged moments with the finalists, Japanese designer Masayuki Ino was finally announced as the LVMH 2018 Prize winner for his label Doublet. He takes home an incredible recognition, as well as a €300,000 grant. Korean designer Rok Hwang (Rokh) did catch the jury’s attention as well, so much so they decided to present him with a a special prize. For those unlucky souls unable to attend, there was a whole lot behind-the-scene magic to find comfort in on the @lvmhprize Instastories…
