Elie Saab Brings The Glamour of Yore to the Musée des Arts Décoratifs
We’re all familiar with Elie Saab’s iconic silhouette, famous for the soft pastel palette of its airy fabric and intricate embroidery, and yet the Lebanese designer finds new ways to twist it every season. This time, for the fall-winter 23-24 collection, the Maison presents “The Glamour of Yore”, a contemporary and Haute-Couture version of the opulence and femininity of yesteryear. In the image of heroines from medieval tales, models reigned supreme at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, as they paraded with undeniable majesty. Whether wrapped in light, nude dresses with elongated sleeves or draped in sturdier velvet gowns, Elie Saab women exude a soft, yet imposing kind of elegance. Topped by glittering gold sequins and sophisticated embroidery, the dresses are of unparalleled majesty, which is made evident by the absence of opulent jewellery, hairstyle or make-up. In the front row, we spotted Olivia Palermo, Heart Evangelista and Alexandra Pereira.
