Eddington’s Cast Makes a Splash on the Red Carpet

Palais du festival, Cannes

American filmmaker Ari Aster enters the Official Competition with “Eddington”, a psychological western set in an American world on the brink of implosion, and where paranoia runs deep. Three years after “Beau is Afraid”, the filmmaker reunited with Joaquin Phoenix and directed Emma Stone, Pedro Pascal and Austin Butler for the first time. The plot is as follows: In May 2020, in Eddington, a small town in New Mexico, a confrontation between the sheriff (Joaquin Phoenix) and the mayor (Pedro Pascal) ignites a firestorm, turning villagers against each other. An intense movie that combines tensions between communities, a pandemic situation and the dizzying prospect of conspiracy.

The five-star cast included Pedro Pascal, Angelina Jolie, Natalie Portman, Rooney Mara, Emma Stone, Luke Grimes, Joaquin Phoenix and many others.
