Drawing Now Art Fair shapes the art of tomorrow at Carreau du Temple in Paris

Drawing is one of the major upcoming trends in contemporary art. Since 2007, a fair, created by Christine Phal, its president and founder, is dedicated to this art of drawing at the Carreau du Temple in Paris. Over time, what was once a small event has become one of the great artistic landmarks of spring. Under the artistic direction of Joana P.R. Neves, 72 galleries present the work of nearly 300 artists for a total of more than 2000 works. The first contemporary art fair dedicated to drawing in Europe closes its doors on Sunday and deserves to be seen before then. During the opening on Wednesday evening, the gallery owner Alain Gutharc presented the remarkable work of Romuald Jandolo, and Carine Tissot, director of Drawing Now, gave us a tour of the exhibitors. We also attended two award ceremonies: Karine Rougier won the 15th Drawing Now Art Fair prize, while Christine Phal was awarded the prestigious Franco-German Cultural Sectors 2022 prize. Another highlight of the evening: two very convincing live performances by Boryana Petkova, and Emmanuel Béranger. A unique event. Until May 22nd!
