Diptyque x Paris+ by Art Basel – Dinner in Honour of Joël Andrianomearisoa
For its very first participation in Paris+ by Art Basel, Diptyque pursues its collaboration with artist Joël Andrianomearisoa, which began two years ago as part of the Grand Tour.
The Malagasi artist has created a work where imagination, real or dream journeys and the fragrance L’autre take centre stage. Skillfully and poetically blended by the artist, these elements transport us elsewhere through the emotions that their materiality exudes.
In three parts and three words, UN AUTRE MONDE introduces a new narrative in the form of a trilogy of works. Joël Andrianomearisoa summons up the mediums integral to his identity – drawing, writing, sculpture and paper – and combines them with the olfactory sense, conferring a sensitive and sensual dimension to the work. It’s an invitation to dream of a new elsewhere, infinite and unique to each individual, according to their desire and intimate geography. An invitation to question the state of the world.
To celebrate the opening, Maison Diptyque brought together a group of artist friends to enjoy a private dinner organised by WE ARE ONA, which proposed a menu designed by Chef Dalad Kambhu. Among the guests, we spotted Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Olivier Gabet, Sarah Andelman, Clotilde Courau, Charlotte Le Bon and Mathieu César.
